StratPlanet was founded in Cape Town, South Africa in 2011 by Howard Plaatjes. Howard has been a senior organisation transformation and business performance excellence professional for over 15 years. He has worked for companies in South Africa, UK & West Africa covering a variety of business sectors and industries to build sustainable strategy focused businesses.

Having served articles at KPMG in the early eighties Howard joined the Independent News and Media group where he built up extensive management experience in various senior roles. His final role in the Independent group was as Managing Director of their 800 strong KZN newspaper operation. He has been a senior executive in internet,mobile, newspaper and retail companies. Howard has also been involved in a senior capacity in many innovative start-up operations such as Woolworths Financial services, Independent Online and LA Retail Stores.

Before launching StratPlanet he was Chief Executive Officer of Media24’s three national daily and 75 community newspapers with 1100 people & 8 business units nationally.
